Der Vorsitzende des AKG - Architekten für Krankenhausbau und Gesundheitswesen e.V., Dipl.-Ing. Christian Pelzeter sowie die Geschäftsführerin, Frau Ute Raubach, haben am 13. Dezember 2016 die Soteria Berlin besucht, um Dr. Voss seine Urkunde persönlich zu überreichen und die Räume zu besichtigen. Wir bedanken uns bei beiden für ihre Zeit und ihr Interesse an unserer Arbeit!
Inzwischen haben wir von der AKG-Jury den Begründungstext für die Besondere Anerkennung für herausragende Gesundheitsbauten 2016, erhalten, die uns für die Soteria am 16. November 2016 auf der MEDICA-Konferenz in Düsseldorf verliehen wurde:
Besondere Anerkennung - Soteria Berlin
Es ist ein historisches Krankenhausgebäude, in dem auf einer Etage die Räume für eine therapeutische Wohngruppe eingerichtet wurden. Es ging dem initiativ gewordenen Arzt und dem Architekten um eine „Entinstitutionalisierung“ der Räume. Nichts erinnert mehr an die vormalige Krankenstation. Mit wenig Aufwand anspruchsvoll und liebevoll gestaltete Räume unterstützen das Projekt „Familienersatz“ für die Jugendlichen, das Lebensraum und Geborgenheit für die schutzbedürftige Klientel bietet. Die mit dem sensiblen Farb- und Lichtkonzept sowie den individuellen Möbeln sorgsam geplante Atmosphäre wird als Bestandteil der Therapie gesehen. Ein ungewöhnlicher Ansatz, der neue Wege für die Konzeption und Gestaltung von psychiatrischen Krankeneinrichtungen aufzeigt.
Insbesondere der interdisziplinäre Prozess, in den sowohl die Ideen des ärztlichen Leiters als auch des Architekten einflossen, verdient Anerkennung und Nachahmung. In vorbildlicher Weise zeigt das Projekt, welches Potenzial in scheinbar hoffnungslos überalterten neogotischen Krankenhausbauten steckt.
The Chairman of the AKG - Architects for Hospital Construction and the Healthcare Services e.V., Dipl.-Ing. Christian Pelzeter and its Managing Director, Ms. Ute Raubach, visited the Soteria/Berlin on December 13, 2016 to personally present Dr. Voss with his Award Certificate and to experience the space themselves. We thank both for their time and ongoing interest in our work!

Special Commendation for Outstanding Healthcare Buildings 2016
It is a historical hospital building in which the rooms for a therapeutic residential group were set up on one floor. The doctor and the architect set out to "de-institutionalize" the spaces. Nothing reminds one of the former hospital ward. With little effort, sophisticated and lovingly designed spaces support the project as a "replacement family" for its youthful patients, which provides a zone of safety and security for a clientele in need of such protection. The atmosphere is carefully planned with a sensitive color and light concept as well as a series of custom designed furniture which is understood as part of the therapy. An unusual approach that reveals new paths for the conception and design of psychiatric hospitals.
In particular, the interdisciplinary process, in which both the ideas of the medical director and the architect flowed, deserves recognition and imitation. In an exemplary manner, the project demonstrates the potential which lies in neo-gothic hospital buildings that seem hopelessly over-aged. (Translation: thinkbuild architecture bda)
